The Community Involvement Center organizes a database of non-profit agencies
in an effort to increase the visibility of volunteer opportunities to
the Rice University community. To ensure that our
volunteers receive the most up-to-date information, we've created the form below to allow you to inform us about changes in your agency.
The agency database is filled with opportunities from various
organizations in the Houston community. This directory is used when
making referrals for Rice University volunteers. It provides volunteers with the information necessary to make an educated decision
about their commitments.
Unfortunately, many of the entries
contain outdated information. Maybe your agency has moved, has a new Volunteer Coordinator, or offers more exciting opportunities than
before. In order for students to find a volunteer position that is
perfect for them, we need to have current information. Even if you believe that your agency is already correctly filed in the
database, please take a few moments to complete the form below.

GIVE-A-HOOT is the moderated e-mail newsletter of the Community Involvement Center. It is published on a bi-weekly basis (with some exceptions) during the academic year. This venue is best-suited for announcements about new volunteer opportunities, funding sources, internships, and full- or part-time employment in the non-profit sector.
Information for publication should be limited to one paragraph and include all the relevant information necessary for volunteers to commit to the activity. This should include a description of their responsibilities, required time commitment, where to find more information about the agency, contact information of the volunteer coordinator, and how to find receive more detailed information.
For a list of the current academic year's publication dates and deadlines, please see the Publication Schedule below.
