Recognizing Past Service

The Community Involvement Center seeks to recognize the contributions of students to communities both in Houston and outside of the immediate area. Peers, community members, volunteer coordinators, and volunteers themselves are encouraged to nominate students for a wide range of scholarships and awards.
- Alan Grob Prize
Annual cash award (amount varies) given by Rice University to honor graduating or non-graduating students for long-term commitments to service.
- Morty Rich Scholarship
Annual scholarship (amount varies) awarded by Rice University to honor non-graduating students for long-term commitments to service.
- Rotary Scholarship for Community Service
Annual scholarship (currently $3,000) awarded by the West University Rotary Club to honor non-graduating students for long-term commitments to service.
- Spirit of Service Awards
Started in 2009 and sponsored by the Rice Service Council, the Spirit of Service Awards recognize the contributions of student volunteers in the Houston community. These awards embody the "spirit of service" and acknowledge the efforts of those that serve, regardless of affiliation with a service organization or leadership position, and truly respond to community needs.
