Rotary Community Service Scholarship

To promote and recognize community service by Rice students, the Rotary Club of West University Place offers an annual $3,000 scholarship in the spring of each year to a continuing undergraduate student at Rice University. The scholarship money will be remitted directly to the recipient's account at Rice University. An important criterion for selection is the applicant's record of community service outside the Rice campus community that embodies the Rotary motto of "Service above Self."

The recipient must have at least one more semester at Rice after the current spring semester and maintain a minimum GPA of 3.2.  She or he must also have graduated from high school no later than August 2010 (for spring 2012 applicants).  Finalists will be interviewed and the winner asked to attend a Rotary meeting to accept the award and give a brief talk on his/her service activities.
