Student Service Organizations
The Community Involvement Center advises several student-run service organizations, the largest being the Rice Student Volunteer Program. In addition, the Community Involvement Center encourages the formation of new service organizations whose focus and area of service is different from existing programs. Students interested in forming a new service organization should consult the staff of the Community Involvement Center for help. The following pages contain basic information about each program. The Rice Service Council was established in the spring of 2009 by a group of students who, in partnership with the Community Involvement Center, wanted to foster a collaborative network to support Rice University student service organizations. Comprised of 12 to 15 students appointed for one calendar year, the Rice Service Council organizes programming to build leadership development and volunteer recognition activities.
