GIVE-A-HOOT
GIVE-A-HOOT is the moderated e-mail newsletter of the Community Involvement Center. It is published on a bi-weekly basis (with some exceptions) during the academic year. GIVE-A-HOOT is an effective, cost-efficient, and environmentally friendly means to announce community service opportunities to the Rice community. The publication reports campus affiliated service programs, short-term or one-time local volunteer opportunities, internships and jobs in the social service field, and announcements related to social service and volunteerism. It is currently being sent to more than 1,800 people.
Information for publication should be limited to one paragraph and include all the relevant information necessary for volunteers to commit to the activity. This should include a description of their responsibilities, required time commitment, where to find more information about the agency, contact information of the volunteer coordinator, and how to find receive more detailed information.
